What does it mean to be queer and vegan?

This project explores the connection between animal rights and gay rights through in-depth interviews with people like you, LGBTQ+ individuals who have a relationship with veganism or vegetarianism. 

There are two parts of this form. 
A brief demographic survey followed by an in-depth questionnaire of multiple choice and long-form answers.

You are being asked to take part in a research study on the connection between animal rights and gay rights. By filling out this form you are agreeing to be interviewed.

What is the study about?
The purpose of this study is to document the experiences of members of the LGBTQ+ community and their relationship with veganism or vegetarianism in order to form a broader understanding of a) intersecting systems of marginalization and b) the role of veganism and vegetarianism in a larger social justice movement. 

What will you be asked to do?
Agreeing to be in this study involves a demographic survey and in-depth questionnaire that include questions about your identity, private and public life, sexual orientation, food habits, and rights-based activism. What are the risks and benefits?
There is the risk that you may find some of the questions about your life to be sensitive. It is not anticipated that there are any risks to you participating in this study other than those encountered in day-to-day life. There are no financial benefits to you. The records of this study will be published.

Is taking part voluntary?
Yes, taking part in this study is completely voluntary. If you decide not to take part or to skip some of the questions, it will not affect your current or future relationship with the researcher. If you decide to take part, you are free to withdraw at any time.
